Getting Started
A great way to get to know our box is to come to one of our FREE workouts, which we offer every Saturday at 10:00 am. If you like what you see and want to begin attending our group classes, it’s important that you learn some of the fundamentals of CrossFit–particularly if you’re completely new to this type of exercise.
We have our Fundamentals/Introduction class, Monday-Thursday 7:00pm, which is specifically for introducing new clients/athletes to our program. There is also a 12:30pm Lunch class, you MUST let a coach know you will be there as this is also a class time for our full time adults that have extensive experience with our program. We will need another coach present to work with you in a seperate group.
We ask that you spend 3 classes getting introduced to some of these fundamental movements. This is a slower paced class than our regular class, simply because we are more concerned with you learning the positions and patterns in the major movements we use to better prepare you to train with us safely and properly.
During the Fundamentals/Introduction class we will be going through all of our major lifts: Squatting and the variations of a squat; Pressing and it’s variations; Deadlifting and the variations of it; Gymanstics, which includes many bodyweight movements; Olympic Weightlifting; Kettlebell usage, along with other unorthodox styles of training. These are 1 hour long, you will be taught the mechanics and proper use of these methods, you will also have a workout to go with you introduction, you will then be shown a few methods of stretching/flexibility/mobility work after. MAKE SURE YOU BRING WATER! Comfortable clothing and shoes. THIS IS REQUIRED OF ALL NEW CLIENTS UNLESS INSTRUCTED OTHERWISE. For the first month you train with us we need to know that you have the movements understood for your safety and the safety of others.
